The practice is predominantly for school-age children aged 6 - 18, but also assesses adult Dyslexia/Dyscalculia.
This Practice does not conduct Adult Autism or ADHD assessments
Screening only is conducted for school - Age ADHD. This neurodiverenge requires onward referral to either CAMHS or a Consultant Paediatrician.
Children under six are typically referred to Early Intervention or Assessment of Need (Speech and Language (S <), Occupational Therapy (OT) or Psychology needs are identified. Under the Disability Act , the HSE must respond within 3 months to you, and assessment must take place in the following three months.
As an Educational Psychology Practice, the principal psychologist always links with the schools. i.e., Reports are for academic or mental health support for the child/ young person.
Educational Psychology may not be the correct pathway for your child's/ young person's needs. In this case, the correct pathway will be identified for you.
This is a small but very busy practice. Please allow a month turnaround for reports, which will be provided upon completion. More complex needs must be prioritized. Please do not contact the office to request a report ahead of the identified timeframe.
More complex queries require staged/multidisciplinary formulation.
The practice does not provide ongoing therapeutic support. This lies within the remit of PCC/ Private Clinical Psychology, CDNT ( Only accepts more complex ASD), or Private Psychotherapy/CBT.
